About Us

My name is Kim and Im a Registered Nurse,a mom,a grandma, a wife,and a homesteader! We own a small 47 acre farm in Breckinridge County,Ky. We raise and breed a variety of livestock including miniature jersey cows, katahdin sheep, working border collies, and a variety of poultry breeds and water fowl. I’ve had chickens most of my life, but became obsessed with those beautiful colorful baskets of eggs I saw on the internet! In 2020, I began my mission to get breeds that were not only beautiful but also laid a variety of gorgeous colored eggs. By word of mouth and ALOT of traveling, I found the breeds I wanted. That was the start of Pocketful of Sunshine Farm! If you are obsessed with having baskets of beautiful colored eggs like you’ve seen on the internet,then look no further! Our breeds lay blue, green, olive, pink, chocolate, gray,and even purple (heavy bloomed) eggs. We concentrate on egg color first but do try to adhere to SOP standards as much as possible. We are NPIP certified and ship both eggs and chicks all across the U.S.
